  1. Pushing my foot down on my pedal as the wind blows in my face. Surveying my friend that is flying into the wind my wheels take of the large dirt ramp. My whole body jolts and the sound of a brittle stone that cracks on landing is piercing the air. I start thinking about the joy that this is. Another dirt hill comes up and again I fly up and land. At the end I’m pulling my brakes and the sound of dirt sliding under my wheels is heard in my ears. ‘Another track completed’, My friend says later.

  2. In my element, fighting my way through trees and shrub. Branches smack me in the face, the smell of wood overwhelm my nose. Thrill rapidly passes through me. Matt launches down the track before me. Is it worth it? Suddenly my mind blanks, I’m hit with an adrenaline rush. Soaring down the dirt track, I yell in excitement. I jump, soaring to the next downhill. there’s no going back now. Pedalling I pick up speed, throwing myself off one ramp and landing on another. Skidding to a halt, my mind is screaming with excitement. Today we conquered the hardest dirt track known to teen.

  4. Tearing down the slope at top speed, wind smashing into my face as if i was on a ride at an amusement park. A ramp becomes visible and my speed takes me, as i go airborne, adrenaline takes over. The thrill is immense. "Crunch", the dry dirt causes my front wheel to wobble threatening the whole thing to topple, my extreme velocity carries me the rest of the way. I pull up a ramp and slam on the brake. Another successful ride

  5. Adrenaline rushes through my body, as I drift down the tracks . It felt like pedalling on danger. Seeing the scarce jump makes anxiety ricochet, asking myself with fear “do I take the leap of faith” . All that’s needed is 30 seconds of courage and confidence. Even the word ‘jump’ sends goosebumps up the spine, anticipating the big jump. As I emerge from the ramp, it’s like flying for 3 seconds, everything’s flowing in slow motion. Landing lethally made tingles pulse around my body. That feel-good feeling struck me, as I accomplish the last jump.

  6. As the front wheel lifts off the platform, all i’m thinking about is what if this doesn’t go right? What if my journey of flying through the air ends up with me lying broken in a hospital bed?
I’m getting closer to the ground and i can actually see myself sprawled awkwardly on the wooden ramp in front of me.
The ground is now about 1 metre under me and i have prepared myself to look graceful falling off. My eyes are now stuck together like a locked padlock and a scream starts to form in my throat.
    THUD!

“You ready?” Those two words infiltrated my thoughts. “Yeaah of course” Andy
gave me a worried look. “Poo what is that smell?” He questioned me.”you're from around here” “That”I stated “is the Tokaanu hot pools nearby” Andy nodded before taking off down towards the two fallen branches,Clive followed him then me and last but not least James. The wind ruffled our hair like our mothers would. Up and over the branches before we took the sharp corner, and as we entered the corner we remembered to get our line right or else boom! We were dead. The first major jump. Adrenaline fizzed around my body. But there was a worry.A big worry.WILL I MAKE IT OVER,or will I plummet to my death?

  8. Writing blog task:
Adrenaline rushing through my veins, forcing my feet downward as the wheels spin uncontrollably through the air. Is it ever going to end? The guy to the right making a massive jump over the steep ramp while the one in front pushes himself to the limit. As I hit the hard ground, an enormous jolt streams up my leg. Ground shock. Determined to get through the course, I jumped into the air on my 2 wheeler. The finish line less than 10 meters away from me a giant grin covers my face. My racing machine comes to a stop as I throw my hands in the air with relief.

  9. The wind chilled my skin as my the solid frame picked up enough speed to clear the first jump. My frame level with the trees and without any ground beneath me I felt like I could fly, I landed smoothly back on the ground after what felt like forever. The gravel flew from my back wheel into the air in a trail of dust. My body was heading at the ledge at full speed and all my eyes could see was trees no ground at all, Away we go!
Nervous laughter erupted between me and my friends, we had made it.

  11. This is the moment, the moment I’ve been waiting for. All i need is right here, the perfect ride, the perfect track and the perfect determination. I can feel the adrenaline boiling up in my body,Then i go for it.It sounds and feels like I'm going 80 km on a motorway, all i can ask is why haven't i done this before? Well i have no time to think about it anyway,as i'm going down a really steep slope, but my friend hasn't let me know that there is a big ramp up a head! While me and my friend was in mid air, my other friend did a 360 turn! Which in my opinion is really impressive, as we rode up to the ending we were chit chatting about where to ride next.

The wind whistled past my ears and I wonder, "am i gonna make it", I shut my eyes and adrenalin pumps through my veins. I see my fellow rider carving up the track, and then there's me, so inexperienced. How will I manage. Encouraging shouts from my friends send my feet into a swirling tornado and the pedals seem to be going faster than my mind as I shoot into the air. I stare straight ahead and then at the ground, the tips of the great pines are barely above my head. I feel free. Then suddenly an enourmess force winds me and I am sent into a gasping, coughing fit. But it soon ends and I prepare for the next jump.

  13. Adrenaline rapidly racing through my blood, pushing myself through the air; the 2 wheeled contraption guiding me along. Thoughts constantly racing through my mind, “how far is the end?”. I catch sight of my partner Alex advancing towards harder stages of the course. Feeling my feet slowly fade on me, an agonising pain shoots through my leg. But determination overtakes my anxiety. Launching myself into the air, slope after slope; cliff after cliff. “Nearly there”, I smile to myself, the finish line in clear view. Finally, the two-wheeler reaches a halt. Throwing my hands up in the air with joy, acknowledging the fact that I had conquered the hardest track ever ridden.

  14. Should I? Well, to late now. My foot pushes off and the wheels roll, propelling me forward. A big ramp looms up in front of me but none of us have much control. Just as soon as we raced over this another pops out of nowhere. More appear, smaller than the last. No! I spoke too soon. The last jump towers above us like the Empire State building. Exhilaration pumps through me. Pedalling furiously, we soar through the air and thud back down to earth, skidding to a sudden halt, finally realising how thrilling this was.

  15. As I push down on the pedal, the wind roars at me . Everything goes blurry. My heart is filled with excitement, joy and thrill. Whizzing through the wind I bolt off the filthy ramp and making it comfortably as I finish with a sigh. Looking in front, my eyes fixated on the next obstacle. My heart pounding. Taking a deep breath my body leaps off the ramp at rapid speed,my wheels turn in midair. A billion thoughts roam into my mind. I safely land and my emotions are uncontrollable. This is the proudest moment of my life!!!

  16. From now on adrenalin takes over my body, the cool air colliding against my body. I felt like superman taking off the jumping pad and hauled through the air, the suspense of whether I’d be in the ambo in ten minutes or breaking world records. My eyes shut and the bike hit the rugged terrain. A big breath of relief filled my body. My face lit up and a ear to ear smile covered my face, even a little yahoo slipped out. Confidence arose in myself and the jumps were breathtaking instead of fearful. What can I say, I feel like I’m on top of the world.

Looking up, I gasp. It’s a gigantic slope. Adrenaline races through me, terror taking over every bit of me. Help! But it’s too late. The slope is right in front of me. Suddenly, i’m shooting up into the sky like a rocket. Terror fades and fear surrenders. I breathe in the fresh air. The smell of trees fill me with energy. The trail under me looks like a toy car track. My hands grip onto the soft handlebars. I take a last deep breath to savour the beautiful moment.
Every bit of me feels completely refreshed.
    Ready to go on.

  18. One by one we dashed around each corner. Speeding towards the first jump, adrenaline rushes through my legs and up my spine. As the first tyre lifts of the ground and into the air, that is when i knew i was airborne. Now getting ready for landing, my rear wheel lifts and my front wheel slams onto the dirt.

swerving around the tight bend at speed my next inclination appears. Watching my companions disappear over the obstacle made me feel more confident, really gaining speed now my bike hit the steep slope, once again airborne, the finish is now in sight. As my wheels collide with the dense dirt my foot strikes onto the brake. We did it.

  19. Tearing down the steep incline as the biting wind hammers my delicate face.Ignoring the other strangers strolling by, I’m committed to conquer this trail. I look ahead, throwing myself off one ramp to another. “Will I make it?” My determination inspires me to paddle faster, soon I’m in the air yelling with excitement. My whole body thrusts as the rigid
stones slide under my wheels. I imagine the elation when when we vanquish the most difficult track ever known to mankind. Finally we come to a halt, filling the air with our joyful screams and yells. We did it, again.

  21. Three arduous years of intense training, all comes down to this. My hands tremble in front of me, desperately trying to grip my bars. Everything is a blur. my mind, a whirlwind. It is loud, yet so quiet. A faint voice is heard just up ahead in the distance. Five, I place my feet on the pedals. Four, My heart starts racing. Three. Two. One. Go!

Bursting out of the shadowed forest, blinded by the flash of sunlight, I fight for control to stay on the narrow track. Steering along the treacherous path managing to catch a quick glimpse of the sunset but then it's gone. Thrown left and right, building up momentum for the final jump. Approaching the last ramp, my body hurls into the air at full speed. Suspended, for what seems like eternity. My wheels slam into the dirt, grinding to a halt. My lungs gasping. My heart pounding. My legs unsteady but I've done it.

  23. The mountain-cyclist, that is me, was seeing all the jumps as through a fast motion camera. All sound heard, was the roar of the wind and the terrified screams of the other cyclists.
Whilst in the air, he thought,” Am I going to make the jump?”
He only felt the jolt of hitting the ground every few seconds. It was amazing and terrifying at the same time!
“Yes, definately going to crash!” thought the mountain-cyclist.
